The funding, one of the largest rounds of private Series A financing for a technology start-up in Canadian history, comes on the heels of the introduction of the Strangeloop AppScaler appliance, the company’s flagship product. The Strangeloop AppScaler dramatically increases the performance of ASP.NET and AJAX based websites, allowing for faster page loads, decreased bandwidth usage and vastly improved user experience.
Strangeloop Networks will use the investment for continued software development as well as for implementing its go-to-market strategy. Strangeloop plans to double its sales, marketing and product development staff during the next six months. The company will complete its move into new Vancouver headquarters in August, 2007, and is in the process of establishing sales operations and production capabilities in the U.S.

The Strangeloop AppScaler allows large and small enterprises to focus on developing applications that deliver new, dynamic and personalized features without the need to continually spend time and resources on performance issues. Traditionally, acceleration devices have simply given routing and bandwidth priority to selected applications.
